Is that the sun?
The last 7 days of weather has been miserable! Over 2.5 inches of rain has kept us saturated all week but the forecast ahead (besides Saturday) looks very promising. There is plenty of bermudagrass greening up out there thanks to the moisture, lets hope the frost takes it easy on these 2024 leaves next week.
The wiring on holes 5 through 13 on the Manakin is now complete. Save for a few pipes that didn't duck far enough when the plow went over them and some rolling to be done we are in great shape. We plugged the new wire into our computer and popped on a few heads on for fun.
Our new central control computer is still in the mail so we were just able to plug a few addresses into our old software to check our wiring. From 9 green all the way out to 5 green we are connected and in good shape. This is just an awesome feat by our staff to be able to put all these new connections in the ground in house. This project will continue to pay dividends for a long time and we are excited to celebrate a bit tomorrow at lunch (in the sun).
All of the cartpath crossings for wire on the Manakin have been paved over and cleaned up.
Our job is also finished underneath the pickleball courts. We spread out 265 tons of gravel last Friday and rolled it in so that this fill area could be solid and hold up to the rains all week. The electrical conduit is in and we have turned things over to the tennis court builders. They will add 8 more inches of gravel to the area, grade it out and then have the paving company out sometime during the week of March 18th. The pavement will cure for 30 days as the builders continue to put the fence and lights up. There is still a ways to go but the weather should not be as much as a factor as it has been!
So back to bunker work! Sloan jumped into the green side bunkers on 15 this week. We hope to get all four bunkers on 15 finished in the next two weeks and then call this project finished until November.
The front left two bunkers will be ready for concrete after tomorrow. We will venture over to the larger right greenside bunker on Monday. We should finally dry out next week which will allow us to get over to the fairway bunker last. Concrete is scheduled for Thursday next week and we have plenty of sand on site to get these filled up.
Work continues to progress here at the Maintenance Facility. Steve Corwin's new building is formed and the utilities have been run to the foundation. We had to dig 10 feet down to find the sewer pipe here so there should be no problem with flow!
The forms are also being set for our new breakroom building. Both buildings are being built in tandem by the same crew. There is plenty of action in every corner of the property!
