Perfect November weather, greens are finished!

Our Pure Eclipse bentgrass sod has worked out perfectly this week. 6 trucks of 10,200 square feet a piece fit onto our front nine and two practice greens with only a few pieces left over.

Our team worked seamlessly with Landscapes Unlimited, laying down 1 truck a day over 6 days in picture perfect weather.

It is on us now to grow the greens in, smooth them out and get them dialed in for golf play come spring time.

Roots are just barely starting to shoot down into the profile. Not bad for one weeks time on the first few greens.

Our architect Andrew Green was on site this week to look at a number of our front nine modifications. He helped us tweak the 7th green slightly, flattening out the top right of the green, allowing for more places to put a pin.

The front collar on 7 was also raised up and tied into the lake with a smoother transition.

The golfers right side of 8 green was also addressed. We raised up the collar and stream bank, in some places almost 2 feet. The green sod line was moved in about 2 feet as well. Outside the new collar line will be sodded to zoysia next week. This modification should alleviate balls rolling off the green and in to the lake.

The first fairway bunker of the left of 9 Sabot has taken its new shape. You can now see the green from the tee and a shot out of the bunker is much more fair than before.

The soil that we shaved off of the first bunker on 9 was added to the next bunker closer to the green. The left side of this bunker is being shaped out to reduce its size.

We made sure both drain exits were functioning before installing new drainage in both bunkers. Rarely do these exits clog up but running a hose through them is cheap insurance.

Jacob and Grant shaped out the left side of the closer bunker and started to cut the edge in. We'll be working to install the capillary concrete, sand, and new sod on both these bunkers all next week.

And now the irrigation can begin! Our irrigation architect has started locating sprinkler head positions via gps for the construction company.

Almost ALL our materials are now on site and ready to go. With the way the world is operating right now this is a huge win. Being able to plan this project years in advance and put our order in for materials 3-4 months ago has paid off nicely.

Landscapes Unlimited has started fusing the HDPE mainline pipe together and this pipe will start going in the ground in very short order. We have about 4 more months to explain all the intricacies of this state of the art irrigation system!
