Keep the hot and humid weather here

There is a drastic difference in bermudgrass growth with different weather patterns. Over the weekend it was cool at night with low humidity and the bermuda wasn't going anywhere. Then we got a touch of rain, some heat and tons of humidity and the bermuda exploded again just like we want it to. The forecast looks good for the next few weeks, we are less than 6 weeks from opening the Manakin.

Number 2 is winning the prize for the hole in last place as everything finishes rooting in. We are drying this hole down, spraying the weeds out and will start mowing it possibly over the weekend.

13 has come in nicely over the last week also. We are letting it dry down now and will be able to mow and fertilize it next week.

Small areas on holes that have been sprigged for 5 weeks are what we continue work on as well. These areas are sliced and then pushed with fertilizer. It is hard to see but there are stolons of bermuda running across these areas and they will continue to grow and fill in.

Our first truck of latitude36 sod came in on Tuesday afternoon. We will use sod to patch thin areas that just didn't catch like we wanted them to. We will most likely be putting down 20,000 square feet of sod each week through Labor Day.

The existing sod around the greens and approaches is being verticut, aerated and topdressed. Managing 1 year old turf next to 4 week old turf is quite interesting to say the least.

On Wednesday we took a quite spin down to NC State to review research with the agronomy professors during their annual field day. It is always great to stay up on the latest research and hear straight from the researchers about which products and methods are performing the best in this climate.

Number 3 is just about ready to go, it almost looks as good as the Sabot!
